Our Statement of Faith:
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He exists in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation, providing power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is given to every believer upon conversion and places them into the body of Christ; the baptism in the Holy Spirit is an experience subsequent to conversion that comes about by yielding the complete person to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The infilling of the Holy Spirit manifests as: 1) an overwhelming presence of God, 2) an evident transformation in the lives and witness of the people, 3) an impetus for the growth of the church, 4) an immediate evidence of speaking in tongues, and 5) an empowerment to witness and a deeper dimension of gratitude, humility, fruitfulness and operation of the Holy Spirit’s gifts in their midst.
The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error. People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life. Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. The one who physically dies in his sins without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the lake of fire and therefore has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. Heaven and the Lake of Fire are real places of eternal existence. Baptism in water is by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. Healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is wrought by the power of God through faith. It is provided by the redemption of Christ, and it is the privilege of every member of the church today.
